Excellent Work Program Activities for Designing Low-Smoke Trash Can Products from KKN Universitas Tidar (Tomas K-Tidar)
Pemalang | - KKN activities from UNTIDAR Magelang Central Java Students, have been carried out from January to February in Cibelok Village, Taman District, Pemalang Regency.
Under the Supervisor Dr. Dra. Eny Boedi Orbawati M.Si. carried out 3 work program (Proker) tasks, namely:

Lidia Faridah added that we deliberately took the initiative to make a waste incinerator, because looking at the problems in Cibelok village, the waste problem is very urgent so a solution is needed to minimize it.
"Even though the idea of the innovative trash can TOMAS K-Tidar (Minimal Smoke Trash Can KKN Universitas Tidar) came from an idea and several researches that had been carried out according to the problems in the village, then an innovation was created that produced a new idea in the form of a trash can for burning with minimal smoke compared to conventional burning which produces a lot of smoke and has the potential to cause air pollution", said Lidia Faridah.
In one session of the event, Gitavisma and Abdan then this tool was made by Mr. Caan, a welder near our post.
"Because we do not have adequate tools, we asked for his help to make it at the welding shop by following the design that we have designed", explained Florensya Oktavia Br Sianturi.
And we from the Treasurer team calculated "The total cost of making this tool is around Rp. 450,000, including materials such as used drums, light steel bolts, welding services, paint, and others. Making this tool takes about three weeks, including planning, material preparation, assembly, testing, and finishing", said Alda Alfiani.
It was also said by Gitavisma and Abdan as the Initiators, "That the creation of this tool has advantages, it can reduce smoke emissions when burning waste, is more environmentally friendly, easy to use, and is made from affordable materials, even though this tool is only effective for dry waste and its capacity is limited".
"We only made 1 trash can with minimal smoke because the number is limited for testing and socialization only, with the hope that the use of this tool depends on maintenance, but it is estimated that it can last several years if used properly", said Gitavisma and Abdan.
"The existence of this tool is now used in the village hall because there has been an official handover to the head of Cibelok village regarding the trash can with minimal smoke.
Of course, the Village Government and Village Community stated that this tool is good because it can minimize the accumulation of waste and the smoke produced from the burning process is less than open burning", explained Hapi Nia Diniyati.
Before closing the Interview, Cindy Oktavianes Nugroho also stated, "We hope this tool can help reduce air pollution due to waste burning, increase public awareness in managing waste, and can be further developed to be more effective and can be used widely," concluded Cindy Oktavianes Nugroho.
